Glendale is one of Denver’s most affluent neighborhoods and has the highest per-capita income in Colorado.
The new rules, signed by Gov. Jared Polis, will extend last-call laws in Colorado to one or two hours later, depending on the county. The enclave is also becoming a center for liberal last-call laws, and this enclave has been a hotbed of these laws. However, it should be noted that the change to last-call laws will impact the business environment of many businesses.
Although the suburb is considered progressive, there’s an element of conservatism that keeps the area conservative. In the 1970s, a Greenwood Village resident fought against school desegregation efforts in Denver. In 1974, Coloradans passed the Poundstone Amendment, making annexation of their town impossible. To annex, the state’s Boundary Control Commission had to vote on annexation.
Taxing districts

The parcels were part of a plan to form metropolitan districts that could issue bonds and levy taxes for public infrastructure. But to establish a metropolitan district, five landowners must agree to join and vote for it.
The city’s attorney, Jeff Springer, believes the Summit lawsuit is strategic, and that landowners are simply trying to maximize their money from the city. Nonetheless, the judge has not yet ruled on the motion, but it is possible to find a new one and have the city redraw the map. Regardless, there is an element of politics in this city’s taxing district.
One area that is experiencing development is the city’s entertainment district. While it’s not quite as exciting as the rest of Denver, there is a positive side to Glendale real estate. The vacancy rate in residential and office space is under 10 percent. The enclave’s commercial district is also on the rise. New businesses are coming to the neighborhood, and the Alamo Drafthouse is already in the first phase. The next phase may include a hotel.
