This year the Fourth of July falls on a Thursday and there are plenty of fun things to do this year in Denver. Get into the patriotic spirit at a parade, watch a Colorado Rapids or Rockies game, and top off the holiday watching one of Denver's spectacular fireworks displays.
The month of July offers one amazing award-winning Broadway show. The much beloved Charlie and The Chocolate Factory come to Denver during the month of July (7/9 - 7/28).
Roald Dahl's Charlie and The Chocolate Factory is a favorite for kids of all ages. Charlie Bucket is a cute boy who wins the Golden Ticket to visit The Chocolate Factory. The weird and wild Willy Wonka has decided that someone will take over the factory and everything in it. Not only is this musical famous for its story, but also for songs such as "The Candy Man", "Pure Imagination", and "I've got a Golden Ticket." This show has one intermission and all shows are at The Buell Theatre.
If you are looking for a variety of music during the month of July, we've got you covered. There are many great venues in Denver including The Pepsi Center, Fiddler's Green, The Denver Botanic Gardens, The Bluebird Theater, and the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Just a few of the bands coming this year include Ariana Grande, Michael Buble, John Mayer, Gipsy Kings, Khalid & Clairo, The Psychedelic Furs, and many, many others!
Make sure to book your tickets early as July is the perfect month to see concerts and many of the venues are outdoors and you don't want to miss out!
One of my favorite Denver events in July is Colorado Rockies baseball. They take on the Cincinnati Reds, the San Francisco Giants, and the Los Angeles Dodgers this month. In total, they will play 10 home games (including a double header against the Giants) this month at Coors Field in the Lower Downtown District (LoDo).
The Colorado Rapids take on the Arsenal FC and New York FC. Both games are at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
The Denver Outlaws also have one home game this month. They take on the Denver Rattlers at Mile High Stadium. Both of these teams are some of the most popular family-friendly Denver events in July.
