Downtown Fireworks Displays


If you can't stay up past midnight, head downtown to the 16th Street Mall for its fireworks display at 9 p.m.

For those who want to ring in the new year at the stroke of midnight, another display happens then.

Make sure to bundle up as the temperatures are quite chilly at night this time of year.

Both Denver New Years Eve shows are identical.

New Year's eve bash at red rocks amphitheatre

Red Rocks

Some people love New Year's Eve in London, some love it in NYC, some love it in Las Vegas, but the New Year's Eve bash at Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of the best anywhere in the world. Not only do you get to see the New Year's Eve fireworks here, but you also get to check out a laser show, live music from some of the best local bands, and taste some of the best foods from around the area.

As the clock strikes 12, make sure to grab your  complimentary glass of champagne to welcome in 2020. All the while you can listen to some of the best local bands and enjoy the incredible views from this natural majesty. 

Doors open at 5 pm and the party starts at 7 pm. Tickets will definitely sell out so make sure to buy yours as soon as possible.

Denver New Years Eve Symphony Performance


The Colorado Symphony continues its annual New Year's Eve tradition of performing an eclectic variety of music.

You'll hear waltzes, polkas, and marches in "A Night in Vienna," conducted by Brett Mitchell.

The performance is at 6:30 p.m. at Boettcher Concert Hall.

Tickets to the popular event sell quickly so pick yours up early.

Sharkey's New Year's Bash

Head to the Downtown Aquarium for this family-friendly New Year's event. Kids will love celebrating with Sharkey, the aquarium's mascot, at the party featuring a buffet and balloon drop. There will even be special appearances by animals that live in the aquarium.

There will also be giveaways and contests during the day for kids of all ages. There are two different times, so you'll want to plan ahead and choose the 11 am or 2 pm slot.

Colorado Avalanche Game


Hockey fans can get in a game before welcoming in 2020 at midnight. At 6 p.m., the Colorado Avalanche takes on the Winnipeg Jets at the Pepsi Center. This is sure to be a rock 'em sock 'em affair and a fun way to end the year.

After the game, make sure to "stick" around downtown for the fireworks on the 16th Street Mall at 9 p.m. and midnight.

Noon Year's Eve

Children's Museum

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Children's Museum replicates New York City's Times Square with a ball drop on every hour, bubble wrap fireworks, and confetti.

The kids will love crafts, activities, and more at one of Denver's biggest family-friendly New Year's parties. Parents will love this because they will be able to celebrate with their kids and then celebrate later that night when the kiddies are asleep!

NYE Countdown Party at Union Station

Ring in 2020 at the gorgeous Union Station, a historic downtown landmark. Enjoy drinks in The Terminal Bar and other festivities taking place in the station's turn-of-the-century Great Hall. 

This year's event will feature three top DJs spinning tunes all night long. Another option is to get tickets for the Speakeasy Lounge area with live music from Denver's Gypsy Swing Review. The event takes place from 9pm to 1am.

Ogden Theater

What better way to say goodbye to 2019 and hello to 2020 than with great music at some of Denver's best venues?

You will find a variety of performers on stage this Denver New Year's Eve. Some of the top venues every year are the Fillmore Auditorium, Ogden Theatre, and Cervantes Masterpiece.

You will also find shows at other popular venues such as the Bluebird, the Soiled Dove Underground, and Globe Hall.

Decadence NYE


Enter the Colorado Convention Center's "City of Dreams," a two-day dance event presented by Decadence. More than two dozen artists are scheduled to perform on Monday, the 30th and on Tuesday, the 31st. You can get a ticket to one-day or a two-day pass depending your party plans.

In the "City Beyond Tomorrow," you'll be awed by diamond-clad decorations, art installations, elegant performers, and awesome musicians such as Bassnectar,Gigantic Nghtmre, Steve Aoki, Graves, and many more

You must be 18+ to attend and 21+ to enter the bar areas. Doors open at 6:30pm and the party runs until 3am.

The Curtis Hotel in downtown hosts this high-class Denver New Years Eve celebration. You'll enjoy dancers, performers, cryogenic blasts, laser displays, and confetti at this boutique hotel near the 16th Street Mall.

It includes 2 full floors of entertainment and VIP treatment with a premium open bar. You can also watch the 16th Street Mall fireworks displays (one at 9pm and one at midnight) from the private terrace at the hotel.

The party gets started at 9 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.

Additional 21+ Parties for NYE in Denver

NYE Bar Crawl: Start your night at the Celtic on Market, where you can check in anytime between 8pm and 10pm. You will then get a list of other bars and what drink specials they are offering. Then you can head out into the cool Denver night as you cruise from bar to bar. All tickets include free admission to all participating bars. Find tickets at a discount for this event on Goldstar.

New Years Eve On Tap 2020: Head over to the Rackhouse Pub (2875 Blake Street) in the RiNo District for a NYE to remember. The party starts at 8pm and features unlimited beer & cidar all night. There will also be an appetizer station, DJs spinning Top 40's dance music, party favors and a balloon drop at midnight.

White Rose Gala: Spend the evening at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at one of the biggest parties every year! Their White Rosa Gala is their annual upscale charity event that draws in more than 2,000 people every year. The theme is the roaring 20s and almost everyone comes dressed to the nines (no jeans allowed). It features more than 50 performers, interactive experiences that will take you back to the 20s, and so much more. This party is for 21 and older only.

NYE at the Cottonwood Club: This event will also take you back to the 1920s to the famed Cottonwood Club of NYC. Step into Ironworks (2027 West Colfax Avenue) this NYE and step back in time when speakeasy's were the place to be. This 21+ party features live music, dancing, craft cocktails, bubbly, and so much more. The event starts at 8 p.m. and runs until 2 a.m.

Roaring 20's Great Gatsby New Year's Eve Ball: I think we all wished we could have experienced the Roaring 20s and this event gives you another opportunity. Step back in time at the nationally acclaimed Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Make sure to suit up on your best Gatsby-inspired attire as you listen to the music of artist such as Berlin, Al Jolson, Cab Calloway, the Ziegfeld Follies, and others. This event includes an open bar, a champagne toast at midnight, and a full evening of fun!
