Stapleton is a small neighborhood about 20 minutes from downtown Denver. Here you will find a handful of great hotels, shopping, and restaurants. The district also has a train station that will take you directly to Union Station downtown. It's a great place to stay and is a little less expensive than some other areas.

If you are spending most of your time on the south side of Denver, you may want to consider staying in Castle Rock. This cute town is about an hour south of downtown Denver.
This town of around 50,000 people has a number of cute bars, restaurants and shops. It's also about half way between Colorado Springs and Denver.
If you are looking for a great place in the south Denver area, check out the options in Littleton. This suburb offers a variety of things to do including wonderful restaurants, shopping and easy access to the foothills.
