The weather in Denver during May is warm and mild with cooler temperatures in the evenings. The average highs are in the lower 70s with the lows averaging in the mid-40s.
It's also the rainiest month of the year. Don't let that fool you though as we still only get around 2.5 inches a month.
Even though most of the snow has passed by this time, there is still a chance of the powder hitting the ground until the end of May. The first year I lived here, I was shocked when we had a nice dusting of snow about three days before Memorial Day Weekend. Just a few hours later the sun came out and the snow had melted entirely by the end of the day.
Make sure to pack short sleeves for the day time and bring along a sweater or jacket for the evenings. This will ensure you are prepared for what mother nature might throw at you in May.
