Colorado Rockies Baseball

Rockies in Denver

Head to Coors Field this Mother's Day in Denver to see the Colorado Rockies in action. On Sunday at 1:10pm, they take on the Milwaukee Brewers. 

If you want to treat mom to a very special event, make sure to pick up the Mother's Day Family Photo Ticket Package. These tickets include the game, a post-game, on the field, photograph taken by the Rockies' team photographer of your mom and your family, and full digital rights to your photo!

In addition to Sunday, this full series starts on Thursday with other games on Friday and Saturday.

Sunday Craft Distillery Tour

Time: 2:30 p.m.

Location: Mile High Spirits, 2201 Lawrence St., Denver, CO 80205

On this bus tour, you'll get an informative, behind-the-scenes look at some of Denver's finest distilleries. A professional guide will fill you in on what goes into the production process of spirits, bourbons, and whiskeys. 

Meet in LoDo at Mile High Spirits, a small-batch distillery where you can sample at least six different spirits, plus a cocktail. Then hop on the bus to Laws Whiskey House, which takes pride in its four-grain bourbons and rye whiskey.

Opera Colorado: Falstaff

Catch the final performance by Opera Colorado this season. On Sunday, see "Fallstaff" at 2pm at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. 

This comic opera, the last opera written by  Giuseppe Verdi, follows the story of a hefty king. He tries to increase his wealth by courting two married women. In the end, he's just trying to get their husbands' money for himself.

Denver Botanic Gardens

Botanic Gardens

Head over to the Denver Botanic Gardens on Mother's Day to see Pixelated: Sculpture by Mike Whiting throughout the York Street gardens. His works explore the relationship between the natural and artificial worlds. All of his sculptures are created with a pixelated aesthetic based on early video games such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders.

They will be open on Mother's Day from 9am to 8pm, so you will have plenty of time to check out the gardens. 



Denver Potter's Association: Spring Show & Sale

If you mom loves pottery, then head over to the annual Denver Potter's Association Spring Show and Sale. This year's event runs from May 10-13 at the Sixth Avenue United Church (3250 E. Sixth Avenue).

During the event, you will get the chance to check out pieces from several local artists. They will showcase their ceramic works as well as jewelry, wood pieces, and glass. This event is free and runs from 11am to 3pm on Sunday.


Fun Places to Shop on Mother's Day

If your mom is anything like my mom, then she'll enjoy spending some time shopping on Mother's Day in Denver.

Larimer Square

Hours on Sunday: Noon - 5 p.m., Some shops are open longer, and a few are closed, but most are open between Noon and 5pm

Take a stroll under the canopy lights in Larimer Square, Denver's first historic district, where you'll find home furnishings, beauty products, boutiques, and art galleries.   

Treat your mom to some bubbly at Corridor 44, Denver's only champagne bar, or raise a glass to her at Cru, a wine bar featuring more than 50 selections. Entertainment options include Comedy Works and piano bar Ocean Prime.

Cherry Creek

Spend a girls' day shopping at the upscale Cherry Creek Shopping Center about three miles from downtown Denver. The more than 160 stores include Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Tory Burch, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany. 

There are plenty of dining options as well. Don't forget to buy your mom something special!

There's more than just shopping, too. Hear some live music at Jazz @ Jack's and the Hard Rock Cafe, or take mom bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes — let her win a game!

If your mom is thrifty, head to Colorado Mills, an indoor outlet mall about seven miles west of downtown Denver. More than 200 stores include Coach, Eddie Bauer Outlet, Michael Kors, J.Crew Factory, and Neiman Marcus Last Call.

With all the bargains you find, you'll have enough leftover to treat mom to a chai at Kataluma Chai, featuring hundreds of varieties, or one of the 130 specialty brews at Yard House.
