Baron Scarpia is in love with the beautiful Floria Tosca, and thinks that Mario has helped a political prisoner so he devises a plot to manipulate both of them. Hi plan is to make Floria fall in love with him while implicating Mario. When Mario is captured, Scarpia gives Floria a terrible choice where she either has to be with the Baron or condemn her true love, Mario, to death. If you want the answer to this question, then you'll have to come to see Tosca to find out for yourself!

If you want to give your mom an even more in depth experience then you'll want to take her to the free pre-performance discussion. These talks start 1 hour before the show and are led by opera historian Betsy Schwarm. The talks are given on both Friday and Sunday.
