May is a great time to head to the theater. This month, you will find three interesting productions: Native Gardens, The Who's Tommy, and Human Error
Native Garden is the story of a Latino family that move into a neighborhood with people that have lived there almost all their lives. Things get tough when the well meaning neighbors disagree over the location of the property lines. Runs from April 6-May 6.
The Who's Tommy follows a young man that has decided to step away from society after a tragic accident. In his time along, he learns he is amazing at Pinball. He takes his skills on the road and becomes a well know, successful Pinball player. He and his family enjoy the life they are leading and give new energy into The Who’s iconic 1969 concept album. Runs from April 20 - May 27.
The final top production this month is Human Error. It's the hilarious story of what happens when two very different families work through an issue created by their fertility doctor. Carrying each other's babies is not easy when both side have very different values and life attitudes. Runs from May 18 - June 24.

Catch a Colorado Rockies games this month in Denver. They have 12 home games this month. They play host to the San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds, and the Milwaukee Brewers.
Most of their games are at night and start at around 7pm. All games are at Coors Field in downtown Denver.
In addition to the Rockies, you will find additional sports events this May in Denver. Both the Colorado Rapids soccer team and the Denver Outlaws lacrosse teams play several games at home.

Cirque du Soleil is rolling into town again this year. This season's performance is called Corteo. This high-energy performance is a celebration of the life of a popular clown, Mauro, who recently passed away. The story moves sadness behind the scenes and opens up a world of laughter, reflections on a life well lives, happiness and celebrations. Memorial Day weekend in Denver features a variety of events, activities, tours, and other fun things to do. Top Denver events in May include Memorial Day ceremonies at local cemeteries.
Other highlights this weekend include Denver Day of Rock, The Pressed Conference, and several concerts. You can also head to the theater, cheer on our local teams at a sporting event, and explore the city on a tour.
Do you love bacon? How about bacon with beer? If that got you excited, then head over to Mile High Stadium for the annual Bacon & Beer Classic. This annual event features unlimited samples of beer from local and regional breweries. It also features dozens of bacon creations from local restaurants and chefs.
It includes two tasting times. The first is in the afternoon starting at 1pm. The evening session starts at 7pm.
In addition to the Beer and Bacon Classic, the May festival calendar is full of fun events. You will find everything from the popular Colorado Chocolate Festival, the Five Points Jazz Festival, and Denver Day of Rock.

One of the most anticipated Denver events in May is Opera Colorado's performances of Verdi's "Falstaff."
It's the story of a greedy and overweight king that seeks to increase his fortunes. He romances two women at the same time in an effort to marry them both. His real motive is to take both of their husband's money.
The opera is a comedy and was first performed in Milan in 1893.
Are you excited to learn more about the public art of Denver? If so, you will love these free walking tours offered by Denver Arts & Venues. There are several tours this month covering public art all around town. One offers a closer look at the pieces in and around the Golden Triangle, one will take you through the works all around City Park, and another will tell you all about the Ai Weiwei pieces currently on display in the Civic Center.
Each tour is open to only a handful of people, so you must register in advance for your spot.
5/19 & 5/20
The Colfax Marathon is one of the Denver events in May that lasts all weekend long. Saturday's events include the Colfax 5K and the Health and Fitness Expo.
Sunday's races include the 26.2 marathon, the marathon relay, the half-marathon, and the urban 10 miler. The day wraps up with a big BBQ after party with beer garden lakeside.
Another one of the fun Denver events in May is Films on the Rocks at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. In 2018, you will find nine different shows running from May until September. One of them is this month.
Check out Star Wars The Last Jedi on the big screen. Tickets are $15 per person. The doors open at 6:30pm with the band starting at 7pm. The movies start at dusk.
Opens Saturday, May 26
Summer is almost here and it's time for the opening of Denver's popular water park, Water World! The park opens on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. The hours that weekend are from 10am to 6pm.
The park stays open all summer. It's a fun way to spend the day in the warm Denver sun.
