You can also see Metallica, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, and The Moody Blues in concert. The biggest theater production this month is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time."

Top Broadway & Theater Shows in June 2017

Curious Incident

May 30 - June 18

The largest Broadway show this month in Denver is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time." It's the story of an autistic boy. He's only 15 when his neighbor accuse him of killing their dog.

This performance follows his story and struggles to prove what really happened. It on stage at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver. Make sure to get your tickets early as this is one of the Denver events in June that will sell out early.

Top Concerts in June in Denver


Denver plays host to many great performers this month. Some of the biggest shows include Metallica at Mile High Stadium, Boston at the Fiddler's Green, and Widespread Panic at Red Rocks.

Other highlights this month include Sawyer Brown at the Grizzly Rose, Styx + Reo Speedwagon + Don Felder at the Pepsi Center, and John Mellencamp + Emmylou Harris + Carlene Carter at Fiddler's Green.

June Sporting Events

June is a great month to get outdoors to root on Denver's pro sports teams. They are also some of my favorite Denver events in June.

The Colorado Rockies host 15 home games this month at Coors Field. While you're at the ballpark, reserve your spot on a behind-the-scenes tour of Coors Field. 

Other Denver events in June include home games for the Colorado Rapids soccer team and the Denver Outlaws Lacrosse team.

Comic Con

Comic Con

June 30 - July 2

Pack your favorite costume for Comic Con, which comes to the Colorado Convention Center June 30 - July 1. The family-friendly fan event features comic books, video games, films, and science fiction and horror literature. 

Big-name guests this year include Mike Colter (Marvel's Luke Cage and Jessica Jones), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk), and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things). Other guests this year include Jon Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), Garrett Wang (Star Trek: Voyager), and Eliza Dushku (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Denver PrideFest

June 17 & 18

On June 17 and 18, the LGBT community shows its pride at Civic Center Park in downtown Denver. The always-fun and spirited parade begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at Cheesman Park.

This year more than 350,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which also features a pet costume contest, the Big Gay 5K, films, music, and more activities.

The festival is from 11am to 7pm on Saturday and from 10am to 6pm on Sunday. The festival is free to enter.

Things to Do on Father's Day

June 18 is Father's Day, and Denver offers many fun activities that you can share with your dad. Consider taking him to a Rockies game at Coors Field, a performance of Cirque du Soleil at the Pepsi Center, or one of several festivals this weekend.

Like to laugh? Then check out a comedy show while you're in town. Denver has some great improv and comedy clubs, including the famous Comedy Works Downtown.

Denver Century Ride

Denver Century Ride

June 17

The Denver Century Ride is an annual race that takes you all around the streets of Denver. There are four course lengths: 100 miles, 85 miles, 50 miles, and 25 miles. It's a great ride for professionals and ameteurs.

All routes start and finish at the Shops at Northfield Stapleton. After the ride, enjoy live music, cold brews, and gourmet goodies at the Rockin' Street Fair.

Top Museum Exhibits & Free Days

Denver Art Museum

A great way to get some culture while in Denver is to take advantage of the city's free museum days. Mark these free days in June on your calendar.

June 3: Denver Art Museum

June 4: Denver Museum of Nature & Science

June 6: Children's Museum of Denver (4pm to 8pm)

June 6 and 14: Denver Botanic Gardens (6th at Chatfield & 14th at York Street)

These free Denver events in June are a perfect way to save as you explore some of the city's top museums!

Events Beyond Denver

Renaissance Festival

Venture outside of Denver to fun activities such as the 41st anniversary of the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur. Return to the setting and lifestyle of yesteryear beginning June 10. The festival runs every weekend through July 30. 

Travel to Boulder for Bands on the Bricks — a free 10-week concert series every Wednesday beginning on June 7. 

Take a trip to Holyoke for its annual Dandelion Daze on June 17. It features a garage sale, 5K run/walk, car and bike shows, crafts, vendors, food booths, music, and activities for kids.

Head to Boulder for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival. The season opens June 11 with "Taming of the Shrew." Other shows playing this season include "Hamlet," "Julius Caesar," and "Henry VI."
