Memorial Day Weekend in Denver 2017

Memorial Day Weekend in Denver includes several ceremonies, a parade, and other things to do. You can also catch a Rockies game, see Once at the theater, or enjoy a concert.

Other fun events include opening day at WaterWorks, an Outlaws Lacrosse game, and the Denver Day of Rock festival.

Memorial Day Weekend Ceremonies

The biggest Memorial Day ceremony this weekend is the Veterans Memorial Day Tribute Ceremony at the POF Hall at 1340 Sherman St just south of the Colorado State Capitol Building. The event honors Colorado's fallen soldiers with a parade and ceremony. It's on the Saturday before the holiday and starts at 10am.

Another annual ceremony is at the Fort Logan National Cemetery at 4400 W. Kenyon Avenue. The event features guest speakers and ends with a 21-gun salute. All activities are near the lake and start at around 11am on Monday.

Theater Performances: The Secret Garden

The Stage Theater

This weekend head to the theater to see The Secret Garden. It's a musical about a young girl that moves in with her uncle after the death of her parents. 

It's a tough transition, but her spirits begin to rebuild when she discovers her late aunts secret garden.

Spend Memorial Day weekend in Denver at the ballpark and cheer on the Rockies! The team faces the Saint Louis Cardinals on May 26 - 28.

The Denver Outlaws Lacrosse team battles the Rochester Rattlers on Saturday night at Mile High. The game starts starts at 6:30pm.

The Colorado Symphony performs both Saturday and Sunday night during Memorial Day Weekend in Denver. This weekend's performance is The Music of Star Wars.

They will perform several pieces from the entire Star Wars set of movies. Sit back, relax, and enjoy an evening of Star Wars tunes.

Water World: Opening Day

This Memorial Day weekend in Denver, attend the kickoff of the ninth season of Yoga Rocks the Park, a music and yoga summer-long event featuring classes, guided meditations, kids' activities, and food vendors.

The season comes to an end in mid-September. Admission is always free, but any donations will go toward operating costs and Food Bank of the Rockies.

BolderBOULDER

30th & Walnut to Folsom Field

One of the largest and most popular road races in the US is in BolderBoulder on Memorial Day. With more than 50,000 runners every year, the BolderBOULDER's 100 different waves of athletes start at 6:50am on Monday morning.

The International Pro Race starts at 11:15am. These runners race though the course with the first participants finishing around 11:45am.

Make sure to stick around Folsom Field for the Memorial Day Tribute. It's one of the largest in the US with more than 70,000 spectators.
