Botanic Gardens Corn Maze

Dates: Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9/15 to 10/29

Location: Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield Farms in Littleton

Cost: $10 and up

Make your way to the corn maze at Chatfield Farms for a fun fall activity you can do by sun or stars. This is one of the kids Halloween events in Denver that includes one hayride and barrel train ride (12 and younger), mini-maze (10 and younger), and jumping pillow. After solving the mazes, check out the treehouse and farm animals or go for a pony ride.

Kids Halloween Events in Denver: Parade

Location: 1500 block of South Pearl Street (between Buchtel Boulevard and Evans Avenue)

Cost: Free

There's always something fun happening on vibrant South Pearl Street — and this Halloween weekend, it's a fun costume parade down the street's 1500 block. This is one of the kids Halloween events in Denver where you can dress up kids as their favorite superhero, scary monster, or animated character and enter them in the costume contest for a chance to win some spooktacular prizes.

Family Overnight at Nature & Science Museum

Date: 10/27 starting at 6pm and lasting until 10/28 at 10am    

Location: Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Cost: $65 and up, includes pizza, snacks, candy, and hot breakfast

Spend a night at the museum with the family! Parents and their kids (grades K - 8) participate in some frighteningly fun Halloween activities, watch an IMAX film, get up close and personal with mummies, and go to sleep in the diorama halls. Boo & Boo After Dark at the Zoo

Location: Denver Zoo

Cost: $12 and up 

Your kids will have a blast at Boo at the Zoo. It's one of the an annual kids Halloween events in Denver at the Zoo. The colorful fall foliage provides the perfect backdrop for Halloween activities such as getting up close and personal with creepy crawly animals. Kids can also stop at more than 25 trick-or-treat stations.  

The event is included in the cost of regular zoo admission.

Boo After Dark: TBD for 2017

Cost: $12 and up (tickets required)

If you're daring enough to explore in the dark, bring the family to Boo After Dark. This event offers the same activities and entertainment as daytime's Boo at the Zoo, but kids can trick or treat at night.

This is an after-hours event, so separate tickets are required. Get them early for this popular Halloween tradition! 

Trick or Treat at the History Colorado Center

Location: History Colorado Center

Cost: Free with museum admission

You can always count on a good time at the History Colorado Center, especially at Halloween. This is one of the kids Halloween events in Denver where you will not only get to trick or treat but also learn about history from people dressed as Titanic survivor Molly Brown, gold miner William Green Russell, and a buffalo soldier. This is a fun way to teach kids about history.

Creepy Hollows Fright Night

Date: 10/28 from 1 to 4

Location: Recreation Center in Commerce City

Cost: Free

The Commerce City rec center hosts Creepy Hollows Fright Night, a Halloween party for kids in ages 2 to 10. It's one of the top kids Halloween events in Denver as it's a safe place for them to go trick-or-treating and get lots of tasty goodies!

Spooktacular Halloween

Date: 10/13, 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Location: Goodson Recreation Center in Centennial

Cost: $6 and up

Head to Centennial (about 15 miles southwest of downtown Denver) for Spooktacular Halloween, a fun event for children 12 and younger. Activities include a haunted house, trick or treating, games, crafts, and face painting. 

Zombie Fest

Date: 10/21

Location: Family Sports Center in Centennial

Cost: $12 and up

Your kids won't be able to outrun the undead at Zombie Fest in the Family Sports Center in Centennial. Energetic kids 5 and older can hunt zombies in laser tag, maneuver through an obstacle course, crash bumper cars, and take on climbing walls.

Haunted Hayrides

Dates: 10/27 and 10/28, 6 - 9 p.m.

Location: Stockton's Stables in Littleton, CO 80125

Cost: $12

Hit the hay at Stockton's Stables in Littleton, about 11 miles south of downtown Denver. On haunted hayrides, kids of all ages will ride down a path beaten by cowboys and Indians as storytellers tell tales of the past. If you're hungry after your ride, get some concessions to benefit the local 4-H club. 

Trick or Treat on South Gaylord Street

Date:  10/31 

Location: 1059 S. Gaylord St.

Cost: Free

Bring the kids (and dog!) down to South Gaylord Street for some Halloween fun. Trick or treating (4 - 7 p.m.) will be along this pedestrian-friendly street, but the main draw is the dog parade at 3 p.m. and the pet costume contest 3:30 p.m. It's one of the kids Halloween events in Denver where you get to see all the silly dog costumes and find out who wins top dog!

Festival of Scarecrows

Date: 10/7 from 10am to 2pm

Location: Arvada

Cost: $15 and up

Olde Town Square in historic downtown Arvada (about nine miles from downtown Denver) transforms into a pumpkin patch and scarecrows hold a watchful eye over it. Kids can create their own scarecrows for a chance to win prizes. They can also march in the costume parade, go through a corn maze, and find the perfect pumpkin to take home to carve.

Halloween Fest for Kids at Downtown Aquarium

Dates: 10/28 and 10/29, 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.

Location: Downtown Aquarium

Sharkey, Downtown Aquarium's mascot, and marine-life friends will host the ultimate kids Halloween party at the aquarium. It includes fun activities such as games, crafts, and more. All kids in costume will get half priced exhibit tickets with the purchase of an adult admission.

Trick or Treat Train at the Railroad Museum

Dates: Oct. 28 and 29, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden

Cost: $5, includes unlimited rides

Historic trains pulling vintage passenger cars pass through Railroad Halloween Town at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Hop on board a train driven by costumed conductors and engineers that makes stops for trick or treating along the way.

Trick or Treat Street at the Children's Museum

Dates: Oct. 27 - 29, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Location: Children's Museum, 2121 Children's Museum Drive

Cost: $13 and up

The Children's Museum becomes home to treat houses where kids can pick up Halloween treats. There are also crafts, carnival games, and more fun activities. Young children will be attending, so please leave scary costumes at home.

Halloween Parade & Party at Union Station

Date: Oct. 26

Location: Union Station

The Great Hall in historic Union Station becomes Halloween central as shopkeepers hand out treats for kids. Adults will get treats, too, in the form of drink specials. The parade route begins at the plazas and ends in the Great Hall. It's followed by a costume contest, so be sure to come up with something creative for a chance to win prizes.

Hauntings at the Hangar

Date: 10/29 from 12pm to 4pm

Location: Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

Cost: $6 and up

One really great kids Halloween event in Denver is at Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum. The huge airplane hangar turns haunted, so watch out for ghosts and goblins. Aspiring pilots can check out the open cockpits, pedal planes, bounce house, scavenger hunt, and magic show.  

Munchkin Masquerade

Date: Oct. 31, 3 - 6 p.m.

Location: Pearl Street in downtown Boulder

Cost: Free

On Halloween, Pearl Street in downtown Boulder becomes a Halloween headquarters for kids. Dress up the kids for this annual tradition where they can trick or treat all along the festive street. The event is recommended for kids 12 and younger.
