New Year's Eve in Denver

Downtown Fireworks Displays


If you can't stay up past midnight, head downtown to the 16th Street Mall for its fireworks display at 9 p.m. For those who want to ring in the new year at the stroke of midnight, another display happens then.

Both Denver New Years Eve shows are identical.

Denver New Years Eve Symphony Performance


The Colorado Symphony continues its annual New Year's Eve tradition of performing an eclectic variety of music. You'll hear waltzes, polkas, and marches in "A Night in Vienna," conducted by Brett Mitchell.

The performance is at 6:30 p.m. at Boettcher Concert Hall. Tickets to the popular event sell quickly!

NYE Limo Bus Crawl

Let someone else worry about the driving as you enjoy drink specials (all $5 or less) at this 21-and-older event at multiple Denver venues. From 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., you can hop in and hop out a limo stopping at in the area's different venues.

Sharkey's New Year's Bash

Head to the Downtown Aquarium for this family-friendly New Year's event. Kids will love celebrating with Sharkey, the aquarium's mascot, at the party featuring a buffet, balloon drop, and giveaways.

Noon Year's Eve

Children's Museum

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Children's Museum replicates New York City's Times Square with a ball drop on every hour, bubble wrap fireworks, and confetti.

The kids will love crafts, activities, and more at one of Denver's biggest family-friendly New Year's parties.

NYE Countdown Party at Union Station

Denver Union Station

Ring in 2017 at Union Station, a historic downtown landmark. Enjoy drinks in The Terminal Bar and other festivities taking place in the station's turn-of-the-century Great Hall. 

This year's event will feature three top DJs spinning tunes all night long. Another option is to get tickets for the Speakeasy Lounge area with live music from Denver's Gypsy Swing Review. The event takes place from 9pm to 1am.

Celebration at the Hangar

Wings Over Rockies

Spend New Year's Eve in a World War II-era aircraft hangar! From 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum offers dancing, all you can eat and drink, champagne, bottle service, and discount rides from LYFT.

Sur Ellz will perform, and DJ Wonder provides hip-hop and electronic dance music beats. 

Decadance NYE


Enter the Colorado Convention Center's "City of Dreams," a two-day dance event presented by Decadence. More than two dozen artists are scheduled to perform, including Bassnectar on Dec. 30 and The Chainsmokers on Dec. 31.

In the "City of Dreams," you'll be awed by diamond-clad decorations, art installations, elegant performers, and nationally known musicians. 

Colorado Avalanche Game


Hockey fans can get in a game before welcoming in 2017 at midnight. At 6 p.m., the Colorado Avalanche takes on the New York Rangers at the Pepsi Center.

After the game, stick around downtown for the fireworks at 16th Street Mall at 9 p.m. and midnight.

'An Act of God' at the Garner Galleria Theatre

In the hilarious play "An Act of God," the deity takes human form to answer all our existential questions. Emmy and Golden Globe-winner David Javerbaum ("The Daily Show") wrote this critically acclaimed play that comes to Denver direct from Broadway.

Spend your Denver New Years Eve laughing at either the 2 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. performance at the Garner Galleria Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

'Finding Neverland' at the Buell

Finding Neverland

Get a look at the life of playwright J.M. Barrie and how he was inspired to create the beloved character Peter Pan. This heartwarming musical is a great way to enter 2017 with the whole family.

The Buell Theatre at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts presents performances at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Artists performing on New Year's Eve include STS9 (Fillmore Auditorium), Stick Figure and DeadPhish Orchestra (Cervantes' Masterpiece), Fox Street (Bluebird Theater), and Nahko & Medicine for the People (Ogden Theatre).

The Curtis Hotel in downtown hosts this high-class Denver New Years Eve celebration. You'll enjoy dancers, performers, cryogenic blasts, laser displays, and confetti at this boutique hotel near the 16th Street Mall.

The party gets started at 9 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.

Denver New Year's Eve Black Tie Party

Black tie is encouraged but not required at this upscale Denver New Years Eve event at the downtown Sheraton Hotel on the 16th Street Mall.

Admission includes an open bar, party favors, champagne toast, photo booth strips, and Las Vegas-style casino games. Three DJs perform in the Grand Ballroom, and a live band plays in the Viggio Theatre.
